Acontis Expands Operations to United States

Opening of new office in Greater Boston to establish subsidiary

Acontis recently announced plans to establish a subsidiary directly in the United States at the end of 2018, and today the office is fully operational. The new subsidiary will handle sales, marketing, and support for customers throughout North America. Jon Waters has been named President and General Manager for the new operation.

Christoph Widmann, founder and partner of acontis technologies GmbH, said, “We are thrilled to have Jon join acontis and manage our new subsidiary. Jon brings many years of experience already with our products and will make the transition for our customers to working with the new subsidiary a smooth one.”

Jon’s background is in selling and supporting industrial automation communication solutions, both hardware and software, to device manufacturers and machine builders. He previously worked at IXXAT and HMS Industrial Networks where he has experience with numerous industrial protocols like CANopen, EtherCAT, IEEE 1588, and TSN.

“I’m honored to be joining acontis in leading our efforts to better serve our customers in the North American market. With the continued trend for deterministic, high speed, and high bandwidth industrial communications, EtherCAT is the ideal technology to meet the requirements that our customers have in applications for SEMI, medical robotics, motion control, and many others. Acontis’ real-time hypervisor solutions for Windows, like LxWin for Linux, are the perfect complement to applications that need the speed and synchronization of EtherCAT, but also have requirements for real-time behavior in Windows. It’s exciting to be at the forefront of the emerging TSN standards that acontis is offering solutions for already.”
